During and after retiring from football, Michael has launched a successful speaking career. Since that time Michael has spoken to thousands of students and hundreds of adult and business groups on issues such as: leadership, positive decision making, turning obstacles into opportunities, as well as violence and substance abuse prevention.

Michael is currently working with athletes teaching them success principles through public speaking and personal training seminar and also is involved in financial planning. In addition, Mike is currently sponsoring several football camps in the Northern California Area. Next year, the camps will expand to include Minnesota and Pittsburgh.
